Downtown Hilo is project by Raiatea Arcuri and Seneca Helfrich that shows historic and current photos of Downtown Hilo to show the drastic change as a result of time and the 1946 and 1960 tsunamis that hit Hilo.
Robert "Steamy" Chow was a historian and storyteller. Officer during the 1946 and 1960 tsunami, he witnessed the wave head-on. He is the founder of the pacific tsunami museum, managed the historical Kress Building in the 1990's and became a Kupuna for Connections PCS. His Tsunami wall compiled from pictures of Downtown Hilo during the tsunami is seen below.
